I want to give appreciation to the Iota Poetry Reading Series, run by Miles Moore. The series not only has great main readers, but it has a vibrant open mic with a mix of experienced and inexperienced poets. (It's a good place to try out new work and see if it gets a reaction). The food is pretty good, and it's a bar, so you can drink. It's been going on for more than 20 years, and I'm glad that I've participated in the series for most of them. Last night was particularly good, if a little weird (shorter than normal open mic).
In addition, here is a draft of a recent poem I worked up. It'll be posted here for a day:
"poem taken down".
